Background Note

NAS was founded in 1993. Until 2002, in association with another Norwegian airline called Braathens S.A.F.E ., NAS flew routes on the west coast of Norway using Fokker 50 airliners. After the association ended, NAS began operating as an LCC that used Boeing 737 aircraft to serve on domestic routes of Norway. Being an LCC, NAS had low base fees, but charged separately for checked baggage including carry-ons, in-flight food, onboard entertainment, seat reservations, blankets, and pillows.
